A Photo Essay in Mission Local

An essay that highlights an industrial slice of the city’s historic Bayview-Hunters Point district.

My latest project began with a moment of inspiration while parking on San Francisco’s Bayshore Blvd. But the project didn’t take flight until I spent considerable time exploring the Bayview’s industrial corridor and saw what was happening (and not happening) there.

Many thanks to Lydia Chávez, founder of Mission Local, for publishing my first photo essay, Bayview’s industrial corridor: the city’s boiler room. The piece features eight photos from my Bayshore series, shot in the Bayview between last summer and March of this year. Please let me know what you think.
